CCAB, Thursday, April 2, 2009 – In the end, the gulf between the two team simply was too wide. Raffles Girls’ School, a traditional basketball powerhouse, ripped past a fledgling Bukit Merah Secondary School 79-11.
RGS led all the way, slowly widening the lead quarter by quarter. With such a wide margin, RGS could afford to make frequent substitutions, giving their younger players more exposure. In the end it was a comfortable win for RGS who will meet CHIJ in their next game.

No. 15 of RGS Is Leanne Cheng not Farah.
i feel no, 5 and no, 11 of raffles look alike!!! LOL!!! nice play raffles.
Such gloating (i.e. gleamed from post) from what I see is not in the interest of sports.
What u expect when you put powerhouses like CG and RGS who have huge resources against newbies like BMS who are not on the same level playing field. Gloat when you guys meet you match. Kudos to BMS for their effort and spirit of participation. Keep trying Girls and do not be put off by all this.
HAHA
I think it is rather unfair for people to say that Red Sports or the writer is bias just because there is only one article about Bball C Div. You need to realize that we are volunteers and do have other committments. And you can imagine how busy we are with all the different sports going on AT the SAME time.
Like Marvin said, it was only be accident that he went to cover this game. And how was he suppose to know that RGS is going to beat BM anyway?
Just cause he was there at that time and generously wrote a report about it should be reason to be grateful, instead of complaining that we don’t have enough coverage of C Division.
The reason why only RGS is written is because Marvin was there. I am sure he would cover Cedar girls’ matches if he could crave time out from his busy schedule.
I REALLY hope that you understand our situation, instead of accusing Red Sports of being bias when it is something we dont really have control of.
And really.. Cedar is just as famous as RGS. We have news on cedar too. Check the front page. Cedar vball champs! X-country champs! And there are games of your bball seniors too..
Ok ok…cedarians chill!! Can’t you see, this is a scouting report for the cedar team…now you know how and who to mark from the rgs team…hahaha.=p
Anyway, truth be told, I was covering b div vball semis next door. It was purely coincidental that i covered the RGS game. There is no bias of any sorts.
how come only post about rgs for C’div 09?? cedar beat bukit merah with a higher score. 84-10
This is a reader-generated site. If you want to send in a story about Cedar, please do so. No need to bleat about biasness. We post any story from any reader.
You send it, we post it.
i hope cedar beats rgs in tuesday’s match!! 😀 😀 😀
even thought tt’s the reason, dont you think that this is bias?
and if you ppl didnt notice so far for the C’div o9 bball
only rgs has been written up
BIAS!!!!
other school also have the capability to thrash schools and i might add
WITH A BETTER SCORE THAN them!!
yeah, how come only RGS? i mean there are other schools who thrashed schools too. but maybe no time, haha, forget it. lols. but RGS seems very good.
cuz rgs is famous, cedar not that famous. so they dun put cedar. geddit?
The entire game was won because of fast breaks. And why only rgs c division got post?
yah..cedar beat bukit merah with a score of 84 to 10 leh…
why do they put only rgs against bm and not cedar? cedar beat them with a higher score..
hahahaha yunting looks so funny. and they put qiu hui as isabel!
It’s Leanne she’s wearing Farah’s jersey top.
Photo #9, it’s RGS #5 Qiu Hui banging in, not RGS #14 Isabel.
erm, #9 is Louisa.
and #15 is Leanne.
you changed it from annihilates
Yeah. “Annihilates” seems rather too violent a word for me to stomach. 😉
