Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 - Raffles Girls' School managed to snatch the C Division Table Tennis Championship title with a thrilling 3-2 win over Anglican High School.
RGS began on the backfoot when they lost their first singles' match to Anglican High. It was all level at 1-1 when the RGS first doubles pair overcame their opposition with ease and they made it 2-1 when their second singles came through with a win.
Anglican High then got back into the match when they won the second doubles game to leave the passionate crowd on their feet cheering for the battle in the last singles match. The principals from both schools were also in the crowd to lend their support.
In the end, it was RGS who emerged victorious and their victory made up for missing out in 2008 to Cedar Girls' Secondary.
Cedar Girls' conquered CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' School 3-0 for third position.
On the other courts, St. Gabriel’s Secondary thumped St. Joseph’s Institution 3-1 to capture the C Division boys' title while Raffles Institution crushed Hwa Chong Institution 3-0 for third.
