Esplanade Drive, F1 Pit Building, Thursday, April 16, 2009 - Vivian Tang made it two in a row when she won the 5.6km JP Morgan Corporate Challenge in a time of 22 minutes 20 seconds. Representing CIMB-GK Securities, Vivian also won the race in 2008. Her next closest competitor came in only three minutes later.

She said, "It was not my PB (Personal Best). The route is much harder and longer than last year's."

The Corporate Challenge is into its sixth edition since 2004. This year's event saw 9,927 participants from more than 330 companies taking to the streets. It was also a new route with all runners finishing at the F1 Pit Building.

Ho Ching, the chief executive officer of Temasek Holdings, was spotted at the event as she managed to finish the challenge in just over 1 hour and 10 minutes. She said, "I should get an award for carrying a balloon for the longest time."

The Corporate Challenge in Singapore is part of the 12-city, six-country, and five-continent JP Morgan Corporate Challenge Series, which featured a record 242,510 participants in 2008.  Collectively, more than $600,000 was donated to worthy not-for-profit organizations through these events.
