Red Sports was set up with the mission to tell the Singapore sports story.

The Asian Youth Games was our chance to put our mission into action and so we did – 64 times.

7 days of pulsating competition yielded 9 gold medals, 6 silvers, 15 bronzes for Singapore and throughout the Games, Red Sports was there with the athletes as they sought to do themselves and the nation proud.

Our crew witnessed the entire gamut of emotion our sportsmen and sportswomen experienced – the exhilaration of victory, the bitterness of defeat. The raw joy of scoring a point or a goal. The sheer frustration of things not going their way.

Our writers and photographers worked together to tell that story to you in word and image. Right from the word go, when our footballers kicked off Singapore's AYG campaign against Iran, until our swimmers won gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay, the crew put together 64 stories on Singapore’s athletes in their AYG journey, probably the highest number of Singapore stories of any media.

While nothing compared to the sheer physical effort of our athletes, the Red Crew had a race of our own against the clock daily, going through stacks of hastily-scribbled notes and sifting through hundreds of photographs with a deadline screaming at us. It was a laborious task, but hey, we had great fun doing it.

So once again, here is the Red Sports AYG 2009 crew, an awesome combination of youth, enthusiasm, passion and brains.

Red Sports. Always Game.
