Kualar Lumpur, August 13-18, 2009 - The Singapore national hockey team is doing well at the 47th Tun Abdul Razak Cup scheduled from 13-20 August 2009. Team Singapore played in Division 2, Group B alongside ATM (Malaysian Armed Forces), PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police Force), Sabah and Brunei.
They started off their campaign with a comprehensive 7-0 win over Brunei. The goals for Singapore were scored by Harjeet Singh (2 goals) Hazmi Ibrahim (1), Md Farhan bin Md Suhaili (1), Chen Shunting (1), Sivalingam Johnson (1) and Noorkhairi.
Singapore then finished with a 4-4 draw against ATM on Friday, August 14, before beating Sabah 3-0 on Saturday, and PDRM 3-2 on Sunday.
In their semi-final faceoff with Selangor on Tuesday, August 18, Singapore won 2-1 to set up a mouth-watering clash with ATM in the Division 2 final on Thursday, 20 August.
