Zack Randolph got fined and a 2 game suspension. Shaq also got a couple of games plus i think 15 thousand dollar fine for hitting Brad Miller a long time ago.
@jake – you must be watching a different NBA than the one the rest of the world watches. A deliberate punch like the one thrown here (whether it connects or not) leads to a monetary fine and a multiple game suspension in the NBA and any other professional league. I guess the PBA is the only league that provides a foul breeding ground for thugs and disgusting players tactics. Sorry to say, but its not something to be proud of!
haha… do you watch NBA,cheap shots and flagrant fouls are very common. you see it’s part of the game… i can understand your sentiments since singapore basketball is still very young but look at the bigger picture and see how basketball can be really physicall.
@XxX, it seems like only Philippines have such a problem of injuring others. I read somewhere that Hamed Haddadi of Iran was injured by your RP team. Just goes to proof that Philippines is a dirty team.
I thought it was Caguioa who did that nasty move.
Reigning PBA MVP Jayjay Helterbrand did not play last night.
Referees need more training to gain more confidence and improve their calls/no-calls. It seems like they were rattled by the crowd. In sports, coaches play mind games on the referees to gain some advantages.
That’s why they need to videotape these games (even if these are exhibition), to evaluate the referee performance.
Yea, so that play. I was surprised that there was no flagrant foul. How come PBA players always play dirty unlike the Smart Gilas Team last week? I don’t like the way they come down and potentially cause injuries to our players.
^^^ WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF PHILIPPINE BASKETBALL. Gilas doesn’t play very physical, and you just got a taste of what real RP basketball is all about.
If you don’t want to get hurt. Play Chess.
@XxX: Yes, this is not chess. But it’s not boxing either. We got the pics to prove that Cruz hit him. I saw it, the photographer saw it and everyone sitting courtside saw it. We’ll put the pics up later today. Cheap shot by a no-class player.
I think it was Caguioa who came down hard on Jeffers. It definitely should have been a flagrant foul. Caguioa was saying he was hit with an elbow, still it doesn’t justify the flagrant foul. The calls of the ref were a bit inconsistent tonight.
you talking to celino cruz he is dirtier than you saw. if you have time to watch on youtube this man is one of Ginebra’s BadBoy! although hes our new member but he can paralyze your player as insane! also tubid can paralyze player this guys are like small version of dennis rodman and we like them, play like hell! haha!
If you watch enough basketball, you will know that Marcus Ng did not travel. He did that exact same move during the Coca Cola game. That move is called a step-through. It is a very good move that only a few nba players used. One of which is Manu Ginobili. The step-through is an extra jab step to gain space using the non-pivot foot after a pump fake with the pivot foot anchored on the ground. It is NOT a travel. It was a move worthy for the highlight reel if it had went it. Kudos to Marcus Ng! I love the way he plays.

Reigning PBA MVP JJ Helterband did not play. Must be injured.
Cheap hit by Cruz of Ginebra Kings. He came down with a clenched fist on Kyle Jeffers. Unprofessional and no respect for his opponent and the game.
