Seng Kang Stadium, Sunday, October 18, 2009 – The Singapore Recreation Club (SRC) demolished the Hollandse Club 6-1 to win the Men’s Division 1 Hockey Championship. With their team comprising several Junior World Cup players, they prevented the Hollandse Club from creating an upset.
In the Men’s Division 2 final, the SRC won the “Battle of the Padang” when they edged out the Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) 2-1 in the final. The SCC team were missing two important players due to suspension in their first final appearance since their debut. They were unable to upset SRC, who bagged the Premier League women’s and men’s crowns earlier in the year.
On the other pitch, the Police team held on to their unbeaten record by beating Worldiz-Singh Sabha in the Men’s Division 3 final. Worldiz-Singh Sabha did not give the Police team an easy time as they forced the game into extra time. However, luck was not on their side and they eventually fell to the Police team 2-1.
