Republic Polytechnic Sports Complex, Wednesday, October 21, 2009 - It was a close call for the Nanyang Polytechnic boys as they had a narrow 3-1 win over Ngee Ann Polytechnic in their second match of the Polytechnic-Institute of Technical Education (POL-ITE) Floorball Championship.
Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) started off strong, putting some pressure on the Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) players, but could only manage to score one goal eight minutes into the first period, courtesy of Mohd Sabri B Yuhari (NYP #5).
NYP then placed themselves up by another goal when Muhd Haikal Bin Suhami (NYP #8) made it 2-0 in the second period at 16:08.
However, a momentary laspe in Nanyang Polytechnic’s defence during the 3rd period allowed Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Hector Tan (#10) to score, with five minutes left on the clock, to make it 1-2.
NYP’s Jenmark Binay Sorreda (#10) managed to squeeze in one more goal for his team with three minutes left to spare, making the final score 3-1.
NYP will next face Temasek Polytechnic on Monday, October 26 while NP will play Institute of Technical Education on Friday, October 23.
