The Singapore Slingers beat the Thailand Tigers 69-66 in their final ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) game before the Christmas break.
It was a heart-stopping, edge-of-the-seat game that was decided only in the last 15 seconds.
Read the play-by-play commentary by the Red Crew of Erwin Wong, Koh Yizhe, Colin Tung and Jan Lin of the game last night.
Red Sports. Always Game.
Gutsy win. A+ for fighting spirit. overall basketball quality was still B-.
Tigers still moved the ball better than us. took better shots. But it seems that our pressure defence made them work harder than they wanted (esp their big men) and they lost their shooting touch and commited silly fatigue factor fouls at key moments in the end.
Marcus and Kyle were phenomenal. Defensively more so than Offensively.
Desmond and HWJ need to learn that though they have good leaps by local standards….when they go in amonsgt the high timbers…..and try to create contact for fouls…at this level the ref know how to see if contact was genuine or initiated by the offense. They will end up taking bad shots…for forcing poor passes. Take the shot when presented, and when you drive…make sure that the first option is to finish at the basket. At this level, opponents are good enough not to get faked by driving to draw contact and will not collapse to leave open passes until you show you can finish the drive.
Great entertainment.
Don’t let there be any doubt about the home crowd not being vocal or passionate.
Keep it up, its just 1 W in a long season.
The fan response towards the end was crazy!!!
It was heart-stopping, edge-of-the-seat excitement.
I am so happy I got to watch it LIVE!
This is hands downs the most exciting match of any sport I have watched this year.
Awesome.
Congrats – the comeback is quite impressive
