National University of Singapore, Monday, January 4, 2010 – Singapore Polytechnic surprised the crowd by defeating Nanyang Polytechnic 38-33 in their opening game of the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Netball Championship.
Nanyang Polytechnic were the favourites going into the game, having clinched the first runners-up position in the recently concluded 2009 Polytechnic-Institute of Technical Education (POL-ITE) Netball Championship.
