and last year is the first time HCI ever won BP in c div. Cos BP changed coach, I heard they r alumni and quite lousy
ya I mean the b div.
to …
hci c div last year won bp in zonals twice, in both 1st round and qualifying for 3rd/4th positioning 🙂
although its true b div nv win before -.-
Hillgrove vs Clement Town wasn’t really close fight. Hillgrove only got 13 points in 2nd set.
hillgrove fought really close with Clementi town!!!
yeah, heard Clementi Town is not bad. Looks like HCI has a fairly good chance of being out. Plus if BP lose to CTS 2-1, HCI is almost certainly out unless they win 2-0.
to Nil, HCI being trashed by BP is normal. They have never won BP b4 even though they were 2nd 2 years back. Cos BP screwed up against Zhenghua and have to meet SQS in semi if I am not wrong. Dun think HCI has ever won BP b4 in zonal. 🙂
hello Ace, I’m just curious or something? Are you also a coach yourself? 🙂
actually I still think hwachong will qualify for Nats IMO 🙂
if hci wins clementi town, they still can qualify for nationals de… jiayou hci
Punggol Secondary, Girls.
lol if hci gets beaten 2-0 one more time they are out of contention.
seems like hci is always been flamed in discussions..
HCI got thrashed by BP today!
=) : I agree wif u . Youth cup doesn really mean much . It can consider as lucky too . Although YishunTown lost to HCI they still made it to top 4 but not HCI themselves .
To : teetohtohtee
Youth Cup’s nth. You’ll have to wait till th Nats before you’re sure they cant get in. =D
huh fri really coach bdae meh.LOL. and i never knew his name was zhang -.-
This is interesting. Ya Max, I think I make a mistake in the captain part. I just recalled u r not Mingyeow captain, pai sei.
Hong, whether my knowledge of vb is murky or not doesnt really matter. All the things I posted are all in the past, many of the ppl here including you has your own sources and many of us hear-say this and that. But Feng Duan did say that his whole team of current sec 4 was DSA and even though it is not true, by constantly hearing it, one will tend to quote him.
I am not here to create chaos and I am not anti-HCI or wat. Itis always nice to see many ppl interested in vb and to participate in all these discussion. Zonal has began and it will be nice to see the better teams emerged as winners.
:):):) You are absolutely right! Ms Teo is like the best coach ever. St Hilda do not need DSA. They train realy hard to be the no 1 power house in sg. In fact, DSA has its disadvantages. Most DSA are short, they indulge in competitive sports too young and as a results, it hinders their growth. DSA also tend to have some attitude and might not fit in with the coaches teaching. Some are even arrogrant and refused to listen to the coach and hence affect the team’s performance. Some like to show off. Teams that train up from scratch to achieve National Top 4 is the most respectable. But sad to say, now almost all teams have some DSA and all are trying to recruit.
Nevertheless, whatever is good for the development of vb in sg is always welcome.
P.S: This is just my opinions, there is no need to argue or wat but feel free to give ur comments.
Also, the ACE who apologised is a fake, I didnt log in last few days!
everyone just funny yi dian. it’s just a poll then chao until like that. just wait for nationals and see lah.
anw, i just being curious abt dsa thingy? who say dsa=qood? got evidence showing that meh? if dsa=good then we really must credit MS TEO because the st hildas we know doesn’t seem to have dsa people? 🙂
Hi there guys,
I am hoping to do some minor conflict resolution over here. I understand that ace’s straight-forwardness in making his views known is touching the raw nerves of many, but before all of those out there are overwhelmed but a certain measure of rage, we must first examine the truth and validity of his comments.
Before I begin, let us all take a step back and applaud ace for his unwavering courage and spirit in posting all those comments on the forum, knowing full well (this I do not know if he actually does) that such an act will stir up an outpouring of emotion for those sympathetic to the hwachong cause.
After reviewing his comments, ace does has his valid points. Examples would include “HCI current sec 4 batch did not make it to West zone top 4 when they were sec 2†and that “the ball is roundâ€. It is indeed true that they did not make it into top 4 west zone and the volleyball is a round object, hmm.. so this must certainly inject some reliability into his statements.
I must say too that I am rather impressed with this young gentleman’s ability to admit his erroneous statement such as him admitting that hci’s centre breaking his finger as well as his readiness to apologise once he realises that he has stirred up a hornet’s nest in the form of arousing angry sentiments.
However, despite his astute ability in sourcing for information regarding the volleyball fraternity, I must say that his statements are sweeping at best and hallucinatory at worse. I shall back up my above statements.
He claims that his sources are credible but states “But his team was able to, cos most(I wont say all even though that is wat Feng Duan was saying) of his players are DSA.†In this case, I shall assume that Feng duan is one of the sources he count upon. Ace is clearly not showing enough trust in his informant that the intelligence he picked up is true. Although his informant reportedly told him that hci team consists of all dsas, he remains doubtful of this and instead stated most of the hci team are dsas instead. If ace himself is doubtful of his source, I don’t find how others like us can find it a reliable and credible one to bank on.
However, I may be wrong about this. Ace said that his sources were credible but he did not say in what way they are credible. In this instance, his so called “credibility†could be based on the seniority of his sources and informants in the volleyball fraternity and not the sources’ ability to pick up reliable and dependable information.
In addition, ace displays an alarming propensity in making sweeping statements such as “The coach boasted to everyone that he has whole team DSA in 2007 and his team was beating everyone including Xinmin in that year. He went around telling everyone that by June 2007, his sec one(which is the current sec 4 with Max in it) was owning every schools in friendly.†And “most of the other schools were not even really to do formation, not to say play a decent friendly match.â€
I mean this really astounded me, if the coach indeed boasted to everyone that he has a whole team dsa (something which is entirely untrue), why would ace need to back up his statements with his “credible†sources when everyone knew what was happening. In addition, there would be no point debating over the statement whether the whole hci team was dsa, it will have been a widely known fact to “everyoneâ€. In addition, he claims that “most of the other schools were not really(or ready) to do formation. I find this extremely undermining to other schools out there. You have my sympathies.
I won’t say much anymore. Weigh this up yourself. One thing is undeniable though, ace is a truly courageous and remarkable lad although his depth of knowledge in terms of volleyball intelligence is clearly murky at best.
i apologize to all
HCI coach is like the nicest old man ever can (among coaches) 😀 love him <3 Btw Friday was his birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZHANG JIAO LIAN!
