NTU, Tuesday, January 19, 2010 – Nanyang Technological University (NTU) beat the National University of Singapore (NUS) 72-70 in overtime to book their place in the final of the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Basketball Championship where they will face a rematch against the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
What seemed like an easy outing for NTU at the start turned out to be a hard fight for victory over their rivals NUS. Having dictated play in most of the first half, NTU suddenly found themselves having to fight to stay in the running for a place in the final. A string of good plays and excellent defending during the last few seconds of overtime ensured victory.
NTU will play ITE in the IVP basketball final on Thursday, January 21, 2010.
