Presbyterian High School, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 - Nanyang Girls' High are on track to qualify for the quarter-finals after brushing off Queensway Secondary 2-0 (25-9, 25-12) in a Group C match at the National B Division Girls Volleyball Championship.
Despite the Queensway #7 putting up a challenge to the team, Nanyang took the first set with ease, as Eleanor Chua (Nanyang #1) powered down spikes to take several points.
The second set was also won in a similar fashion as Nanyang blitzed to a 16-4 lead in no time. Queensway tried to put up a fight, and succeeded in notching several points, but they were no match for their opponents as they fell 12-25.
Nanyang currently have two wins to their name, having beaten Sembawang Secondary 2-0 earlier on.
The next Group C match will be on Wednesday, March 3 at 2.10pm between St. Hilda's and Sembawang. Assuming St. Hilda's wins the game, Nanyang will face the East Zone champion on Monday, March 8 at 2pm to determine who tops Group C. All B and C Division Girls matches are held at Presbyterian High School.
