Arowanas continue winning streak while Dolphins upset Stingrays

Jurong East Sports Hall, March 20 and 21, 2009 - Malaysian Arowanas continue their winning streak after beating Stingrays in a high-scoring game. They then followed it up with a win over the Bedok Kings Vipers.

On the other hand, favourites adidas Sneakers Stingrays, who had a great start in the opening weekend, suffered two straight losses this weekend. They fell unexpectedly to the Magic Dolphins and then suffered another defeat at the hands of the Arownas.

The Arowanas trailed the Stingrays 11-17 at the end of first quarter but strong fighting spirit saw Arowanas reduce the margin to 26-27 at half time before stealing the lead at 41-39 to enter the fourth quarter. The Arowanas then finished strong, scoring 21 points while keeping the Stingrays to 12 points, to wrap up the game 62-51.

In the other game, the Arowanas dominated the second quarter to eventually set up victory against Bedok Kings Vipers, 50-33.

After losing to the Arowanas, the Stingrays failed to overcome the speedy Magic Dolphins, losing the game 39-53 and dropped down to fifth position on the table.

In the other matches, Nike Marlins registered two victories over M1 Sunfish (45-35) and Bedok Kings Vipers (34-23) to move up to second on the table.
