Total Voters: 1,418
[…] started a poll for readers to vote their best A Division football XI back in late March and it closed on May 30 with 1,418 readers taking […]
erm now that the votes are over then what? whats going to happen next?
We create these polls as an encouragement to student athletes. I am sure that if your name is in the poll, you are enjoying the pride and honour that comes with it.
As a free site that is run by volunteers, our energies and resources are devoted to covering the game and so we are not in a position to do more at this stage.
All-star team made of born and bred VS students. In my opinion, A Div football owes VS a lot.

CHONG KUAN GIT (#4 STRIKER/PLAYMAKER)VJC
A talented playmaker whose standard misses dilip thapa(#10) merely by a chin. Constantly leading by example, telling his teammates to keep their chin up.
It’s a pity we didnt get to see much of him this season, only in the first round, as his injuries got the better of him.
oh well.
a technically solid player, disappointed not to see him in action this year.
impossible is nothing with kuan git
he is a long CHINese
okay im an angry man. why didnt the admins put up this nomination >:c i know it was late but that was the very least he deserved.
Hi wheres my kuan git,
Chong Kuan Git’s nomination came in too late for consideration.
what makes a good team isn’t good players, it’s the teamwork.
Goalkeepers’ review:
Personally i think, shi tong is the best keeper with his quick decision making as well as agility and composure. Lightfoot is a good keeper too with good catches though he wasn’t really tested as much. hmm as for wafiy, it’s for you to judge (: haha
I agree with by the way’s comment. People like Ang Bing Quan, Kenneth Kor and Farhan Azmi deserve to be up at the top. So does Muhd Naufal from MJ. Think these 4 should’ve been nominated from the start. Can I give my take on the best 11?
Daniel Lighfoot, MJC.
Parvesh Dhillon, VJC.
Kenneth Kor, MJC.
Darren Hedger, SAJC.
Ang Bing Quan, MJC.
Ryson Yap, VJC.
Dilip Thapa, VJC.
Naufal, MJC.
Muhd Khair, MJC.
Asyraf Akbar, VJC.
Muhd Amsyar, MJC.
If these people were in the same team, no one can lay a finger on them!
The final result is going to be very flawed. While no doubt tht Dilip probably deserves all the votes he has got and the 1st position, I am sure that some of the MJ and SA players deserve to be in top ten as well. Many cant be as their names were added only in the past 2/3 weeks while VJ team names hav been there for a long long time.
So, I suggest that Red Sports automatically add the names of the players of the top 3 teams from the earlier year when it starts its poll each year.
Sharif Hidayat #18 MJC, has to be in the 11 best A div players. He should get an award for amazing sportsmanship. In the final game, once when MJ were attacking he was helping an SA player having a cramp to stretch. If he hadnt, he could have possibly gone forward and scored. Go Sharif! Sharif the best!
Well, MJ? SPORTSMANSHIP? I wonder why Noah was dragged across the floor by an mjc player. How is that sportsmanship?
are u saying noah is a clean player? HAH
Farhan Azmi (#13, Mjc, Midfield)
how come nobody mention him? i think he is the one that stop SA from having much of the possesion. defensively good!
vjc #14 fang jia jie
vjc #17 lim jin kai
Hi teamtalk and fan, your votes have been added.
Hey redsports, I’m just here to give my opinion on who should be in the best A div starting 11 this year. I’m a coach myself and I’ve watched many of this year’s games so I know who’s good once I see them play. So here goes:
Keeper: Daniel Lightfoot, MJC
Sweeper: Parvesh Dhillon, VJC.
Stopper: Darren Hedger, SAJC.
Right back: Farhan azmi.
Left back: Asyraf Akbar
Right midfield: Ryson Yap
Defensive mids: Muhd Khair and Muhd Naufal from MJC.
Attacking mid: Dilip Thapa
Left midfield: Noah
Striker: Amsyar
These are the best.
Thanks for sharing, coach. : )
hey coach so you think if MJC play against VJC who will win??
Because his hair too curly
Against the regulations
why isn’t Ong Boon Teck name up?
How can people not in the finals be the best XI?! MJC First 11 should be the top players for obvious reasons, they’re the champions!
hey.be humble!we may be in the finals, but the best players dont always come from the team in the finals
1 MJC are not champions(yet)
2 MJC are not champions last year. VJC were.
3 Agree with meridian
1) MJC will definitely be champions. Did you see Khair’s comment in the new paper? NOTHING BUT CHAMPIONS.
2) VJC got lucky last year with a last min strike. But congrats to them
3) Flaunt it if you have it. and we MERIDIANS do have it.
1) The fact is… until tml, MJC, although hot favourites, are not champions yet. A neutral spectator would definitely agree with this. Even if SA have a lower chance of winning, there’s still a chance so dun put them down so fast.
2) A win is a win. Luck is part of skill.
3) The best players don’t always come from the team in the finals.
