Presbyterian High School, Monday, March 29, 2010 - Jurong Secondary ended their B Division girls volleyball season with a 2-0 (25-18, 25-13) win over Shuqun Secondary in a Group Y quarter-final match.

After losing their previous two quarter-final matches, Jurong and Shuqun were out of the running for the semi-finals.

The first set started with both sides hitting several out balls. However, Jurong took an early lead at 9-4. Shuqun fought on, and saw themselves level at 9-9 after Cynthia (Jurong #11) spiked out. The score remained close and saw the lead change hands twice. Jurong surged ahead in the final few points, and pulled away from Shuqun.

They kept Shuqun at bay and were at match point after Shuqun were unable to return a serve from Ee Jin (Jurong #7). Jurong took the set 25-18 after a Shuqun player was fouled for contacting the net.

Qiuyun (Jurong #6) fired off a good serve to take the first point of the second set. Zi Qing (Jurong #8) then took the next point with a spike from the centre. Qiuyun (Jurong #6) took the next point with her serve once again, seeing it deflected out of bounds by the Shuqun libero.

Jurong raced to a 13-5 lead, but Shuqun were unfazed by the lead. The coach made several substitutions, allowing all the players a chance to play in their last match of the season. Jurong continued picking up points, and were at match point after a block by Zi Qing (Jurong #8). They sealed the match after Cally (Shuqun #15) spiked into the net.
