Singapore, Monday, March 29, 2010 - Spectators can now get in on the action with the start of ticket sales for 158 sport competition sessions at 16 competition venues for the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG). Around 320,000 tickets for competition will go on sale starting Wednesday, 31 March at 9.00am Singapore time (GMT+8).
The tickets are priced at S$10 (preliminaries), S$15 (quarter-finals/semi-finals) and S$30 (finals).
For the first time in the history of Olympic Games, each ticket purchased is accompanied by a Singapore 2010 DBS Visa Prepaid Companion Card 3 that combines payment and transit functionality.
New competition grouping and formats such as mixed gender grouping and/or mixed National Olympic Committee teams will be introduced, while some sports will be played in completely new formats to raise the level of excitement for both athlete and spectator experience.

Notes
1. There are 18 competition venues in total, admission is free at National Sailing Centre and East Coast Park.
2. With the exception of Football, where Jalan Besar Stadium is the only competition venue that has both covered and un-covered seating galleries, tickets to the uncovered gallery will be at S$5 (Preliminaries), S$7.50 (Quarter-Finals/Semi-Finals) and S$15 (Finals).
3. Singapore 2010 DBS Visa Prepaid Companion Card entitles each spectator to a maximum of four Mass Rapid Transit train rides and unlimited bus rides on the day of the event for every ticket purchased.
Any idea if students will be released to attend the evnts on weekdays?
