Jurong East Sports Hall, Friday, April 16,2010 – Mighty Mannas, the only team with the potential to break Malaysian Arowanas’ winning streak, failed to hold off a last minute goal, losing 46-47 to give Arowanas their seventh victory in the Netball Super League.

The first quarter saw swift movement coupled with slick passes from Mannas to send the ball into the shooters' hands easily. Fine shooting from the shooters, Tan Hui Yan and Hong Wei Zhen, helped Mannas to quickly set up an 11-7 lead. Crucial interceptions in the goal area by Lin Qingyi gave Mannas several turnovers which were converted into goals.

Trailing 11-17, Arowanas made some changes to their line up in the second quarter. The adjusted line up immediately paid dividends. Mannas had difficulties adjusting to the new game play. Arowanas grabbed the opportunity to score four consecutive goals to narrow the gap to two.

However, the good times did not last. Mannas soon found their solution to overcome Arowanas' attack, making a strong comeback to establish a six-point lead before Arowanas displayed some good play to wrap up the second quarter 27-23.

Mannas replaced Chua Hui Xian with Zhang Ailin in the Wing Attack position in the third quarter. However, the change did not aid the team as the Mannas still had trouble penetrating Arowanas defence. Poor accuracy of the passes exacerbated the situation, gifting Arowanas several turnovers.

Accurate shooting from the Arowanas shooters gave Mannas no turnovers and they entered the fourth quarter leading 39-36.

Mannas, with Chua Hui Xian back as the Wing Attack, saw better flow of the game in the final quarter. Despite coming under strong attack, Mannas kept within sight.

With a few minutes left on clock, crucial interceptions in Arowanas’ attacking third, coupled with good movements by the shooters in the goal circle, aided the Mannas in leveling the score at 44-44. Both teams then exchanged another two goals, before Mannas committed some mistakes, gifting a turnover to Arowanas who scored in the dying seconds to register their seventh victory, 47-46.

Mannas will now need to win their remaining matches to qualify for the final while Arowanas are through to the final.
