South Africa, Sunday, June 13, 2010 — Slovenia finally won their first World Cup game in their history with a 1-0 win over Algeria but did you see the goal that Robert Koren of Slovenia scored against Algeria? That was one soft goal along the lines of the Robert Green error for England.
A poor game where the highlight was whether the fan perched on the light tower high above the stadium would fall to his death for his foolishness, the game seemed headed nowhere.
Then Algerian substitute Ghezzal got sent off for trying to pull down a pass like an American football wide receiver. What was he thinking with his intentional handball?
Then came the goal. Algerian goalkeeper Chaouchi misjudged the bounce of the ball and ended up redirecting the ball into the net.
Blame the ball?
Or blame the goalkeeper?
