On Sunday, July 11th, SAFRA will be organising festivities at four of its major clubs located island wide to celebrate the World Cup final between Spain and Holland.
It will be the first time SAFRA toasts the World Cup on a big scale involving SAFRA Mount Faber, SAFRA Tampines and SAFRA Yishun, to create opportunities for effective bonding between NS men and bonding between soccer enthusiasts.
Named Get in2 the World Cup Fever @ SAFRA!, each of the four SAFRA clubs will be organising its own unique lineup of events, ranging from Glow-in-the-Dark futsal, a beer-drinking contest, the Best Supporting Team contest and more, alongside watching ‘live’ telecasts of the World Cup Final.
Entry to the four clubs will be free, although guests may purchase drink vouchers ($16.05 for SAFRA members and $21.40 for non-SAFRA members) which entitle them to free flow of beer. The events are open to SAFRA members and the public.
At SAFRA Tampines, the multi-purpose hall will be transformed into a soccer playground whereby participants can expect to be part of the activities such as the “Very-Mini Soccer” and the Human Foosball Challenge.
Participants may also take part in Glow-in-the-Dark Futsal after the World Cup Final match. Participants will be playing futsal with glow-in-the-dark balls accompanied by neon light sticks hung at the goal posts to liven the atmosphere. The free and easy futsal matches will last throughout the wee hours of the morning till 6 a.m. so as to enable participants to head home with public transport with ease.
Visitors are encouraged to dress up to show support for their favourite teams as there will be contests for best-dressed guests at SAFRA Mount Faber and Yishun. SAFRA Mount Faber will also be organising the Best Supporting Team contest to reward enthusiastic supporters of the World Cup Final teams.
Supporters are encouraged to show support for their favourite teams by creating special cheers, by bringing banners, by dressing in their teams’ colours and other means limited only by their imaginations.
