Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, July 15, 2010 — After two opening wins, Singapore were thrashed 7-0 by Malaysia in the ASEAN School Games hockey competition.

Singapore had beaten Brunei 8-0 in their opening game on Wednesday. They then beat Thailand 4-2 on Thursday morning before facing Malaysia in the afternoon.

That left our boys a little ragged.

“I believe Singapore were tired after playing Thailand in the morning and that is why we managed to score so many goals against them. However, we also played two matches on Wednesday, but my players’ fitness took them through,” said Malaysia coach S. Prakash on nst.com.my.

Singapore play Indonesia in their final group game today and are expected to make it all the way to the final where they will probably face Malaysia again.
