It’s that time of the year – time to nominate your athlete of the year!
For this year, the bar has been set higher.
So how does an athlete get nominated?
To nominate an athlete, please state why he should be nominated. The reason is up to you.
After you nominate you, the Red Sports crew will take a look at the list and determine who should get into the final list for the readers to vote on.
So who deserves to be the 2010 Red Sports 100PLUS Athlete of the Year?

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum age: 13 (Secondary 1)
Must be current school player
Athlete or team must be in one of the following competition: A, B or C Division; Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP); Polytechnic-Institute of Technical Education (POL-ITE)
Sport must be recognised by either one of the following bodies: Co-Curricular Activities Branch (Ministry of Education), IVP Sports Council, POL-ITE Sports Committee

What happens after the nomination period?
After the nominations come in, athletes who meet the criteria will be put into a poll where readers can vote for who they think should win the award. The poll will begin during the second half of the year. We will announce the start date later.
What happens after the voting?
The athletes and team with the highest number of votes will be recognised by 100PLUS and Red Sports at a special event.

Team of the Year: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) B Division Air-Rifle Team
Reason: A strongly bonded team, which strive to achieve as one. True to their sportsmanship, they’re known to not only achieve significantly in the field, but also show great sporting character towards teams from other schools. All members have the traits of a scholar, an officer and a gentleman.
National Inter-School Shooting Championships 2010- Team Gold, Challenge Trophy.

REASON: the team fought hard for the victory and the team is very bonded. They fight as a whole. Their spirit helped them to overcome all the disadvantages. It is a team deserved respect.

Reason: He is a great runner. Not the fastest out there but his determination is commendable. He is humble despite coming in 3rd for 3000M A Boys Steeplechase.
Kevin won the gold in A boys’ 5km too!

Reason: He is the star player & the best player. So much potential & skill within him, with much passion and desire to win. Definitely one of the best player in the team!

Despite the lack of facilities from the school, they still manage to enter the finals of Inter-JC for the past 2 years. Lots of dedication and passion as members can be seen throwing everyday after school at whatever free spot they can find.
yeaaahhh, but who really places frisbee in high regard here in singapore anyway…
Rainer Ng Kai Wee, Raffles Institution, Swimming, Age 18. He should be nominated for his dedication, passion and a motivator. He always gives all his best in whatever he does. And most important, he is humble and has no airs even with all his achievements.
In the recent School National, he sets 3 meet records and a National record in his events. Kudos to him.

Not the best athlete but her discipline alone is more than enough to place her as athlete of the year. 1st for national cross country and 3k track and some 10k race at macr recently. 2nd for 1.5ktrack.
