Singapore Sports School, Sunday, August 15, 2010 — Singapore’s Cheryl Lim and Rainer Ng qualified for the semi-finals of the girls’ 50 metre Breaststroke and boys’ 100m Backstroke respectively on day one of the Youth Olympic Games swimming competition.
Rainer clocked a time of 57.50 seconds to finish eighth overall in the heats, and Cheryl’s time of 33.82 was good enough for the 16th and final semi-final spot. It was the best timing of the year for both swimmers.
Clement Lim (400m Freestyle), Pang Sheng Jun (100m Breaststroke), Adeline Winata, Chriselle Koh (100m Backstroke) and the mixed 4 x 100m Freestyle relay team failed to make the cut for the semi-finals.
