*scape Youth Park, Sunday, August 22, 2010 — Singapore’s basketball boys reached the 33-point mark for the first time in the tournament when they beat Panama 33-20 in the 17th-20th classification match in the Youth Olympic Games basketball tournament.

In YOG basketball, a game is automatically decided once a team reaches 33 points.

The team will play India tomorrow in a bid to secure 17th place. Singapore already has two wins from two in the classification phase.

The girls team were edged out by Thailand 29-28. This result means that Singapore will finish no higher than 18th place in the girls’ competition as Thailand already have two wins.

Singapore will play Chile tomorrow for 18th place.
