Darren Choy leads the Boys Byte CII fleet after the fourth day of competition. He placed third and fourth in Race 7 and 8 respectively. Darren will need to turn in similarly good results in the final four races to maintain his first position, as he holds only a four-point lead, and only 11 points separate him from fifth place. National Sailing Centre, Monday, August 23, 2010 — Singapore’s Darren Choy surged to the top of the Boys Byte CII leaderboard after turning in two top-four finishes today at the Youth Olympic Games sailing competition.
He was lying in sixth place in Race 7 but managed to come in third in a close finish. Darren then returned fourth in Race 8 to complete a productive day in first place overall in the Boys Byte CII fleet.
He has 38 points after one discard, while U.S. Virgin Islands’ Ian Burrows is second on 42. Overnight leaders Florian Haufe (7th, 9th) and Kaarle Tapper (11th, 8th) slipped to third and fourth respectively on 43 and 44 points.
Audrey Yong dropped one place to third in the Girls Bic Techno 293 category. Thai Siripon Kaewduang-Ngam consolidated her first position by winning both Race 7 and 8, while Israeli Naomi Cohen took advantage of Audrey’s seventh and sixth-placed finishes today to improve to second place. Cohen has 27 points, one fewer than Audrey. Kaewduang-Ngam leads with 16.
In the Girls Byte CII, Natasha Yokoyama fell further behind the leading pack when she came in 20th in Race 7. She improved to sixth in the next race, and although she remains in fourth overall in the fleet with 50 points, the top three registered better finishes than Natasha to pull away.
Austrian Lara Vadlau leads with 18 points, while Constanze Stolz and Celine Carlsen are second and third respectively with 30 and 38.
There will be three more races tomorrow, and a final one on Wednesday, August 25th.

In the midst of changing the racing course, Ukraine’s Pavio Babych thought it would be fun to do a capsize drill. (Photo 4 © Vanessa Lim/Red Sports)
haha..did the ukraine sailor really do it intentionally..?did he have problems uncapsizing his boat..?
Wouldn’t it be nice if the driver of the media boat decided to do one himself as well…? (with u guys on it =p )
