Kallang Tennis Centre, Thursday, February 24, 2011 — Joy Chia of Methodist Girls’ School flew back from Sri Lanka to lead her team to a narrow 3-2 win over Raffles Girls’ School for the National B Division Tennis Championship title.
Joy is a member of the Singapore national women’s youth team competing in Sri Lanka during the same period as the inter-school championship. Yet she managed to complete her duties for Singapore before rushing back to help her school.
Raffles Girls’ School, the defending champions, did not go down without a fight though.
Sabrina Bay Tan and Rehmat Johal of Raffles Girls’ School won their respective singles ties to propel their team to a 2-1 lead after Joy had taken the first singles tie.
Yet Methodist Girls’ School, backed by a group of vocal supporters, bounced back in both their subsequent doubles ties to secure the victory.
Singapore Chinese Girls’ School came in third while CHIJ Toa Payoh took fourth position in the B division girls’ tennis competition.

Also, if i’m not wrong, the score of the 1st doubles is incorrect.
Thanks for the correction. Names updated.
If you have the 1st doubles score, we’ll update that as well.
Hello there! Bella Chia’s name is spelt wrongly – should be spelt with an ‘a’ at the end of ‘Bella’ instead of an ‘e’. Also Nicole Tan Yee Ting’s name should be spelt as ‘Nichole’. (:
Thank you for the photos and story!
