When asked about the final try and penalty, RI coach Faizal Ahyar said: “The try was well worked. It was something we worked on and something that we should have done the whole game but we didn’t. I was not really expecting Maverick to score the last penalty because he’s not our regular kicker. If it was our regular kicker, it definitely would have gone in. Unfortunately he broke his finger and he didn’t play.”

“Our expectation is to finish second this year since we won the C Division title last year and most of these guys are Secondary Three,” continued the RI coach about his team’s expectations this year.

After playing three matches, RI lie in fourth place on the table with one win, one draw and one defeat. For ACS (BR), the match against RI was their first after all of their previous three matches were postponed due to the weather.

RI will next play against St. Joseph Institution on Tuesday at CCAB while Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) will be the next opponent for ACS (BR). The two schools will play at the Home Team Academy on Thursday.

In another B Division game played last week, ACS (I) beat RI 30-6 at a lightning-delayed game that took three hours to complete for their second victory of their campaign.
