Riku is a Finnish, therefore he have been playing floorball since very young. So,let’s look at the others.
In my opinion CHS & BMS boys form really really good teams, especially BMS because of their history in floorball.Unlike the other two schools in the top 4.CHS & BMS boys only started playing floorball in Secondary School.Whereas, the boys from NS & VS have started playing floorball/hockey since primary school. So I respect the guys from CHS & BMS.
syahid , victoria ?
Riku Alatalo is worthy to be the best player=) he’s very talented for a B div player
Hi guys, just stop it because it is pointless talking to a certain individual. We need not honour his/her comments by a reply. In fact by replying we indirectly seem to suggest his/her comment is worthy of our time.
Cheers
“Hi guys, just stop it…”
May I ask, by what authority do you issue your command? 🙂
And besides, everybody (including myself) had stopped for over 2 days until you came along to disturb the peace! xD
“…because it is pointless talking to a certain individual.”
I’m not sure which “certain individual” you’re referring to (*wink*), but although YOU might think that it’s “pointless” to talk to him/her, that doesn’t mean everyone has to agree with you, does it? xD
“We need not honour his/her comments by a reply.”
I’m beginning to sense some hypocrisy here because aren’t you also “honouring” the comments of this “certain individual” by replying in a general way to the entire conversation of which this individual’s comments are a part? xD
“In fact by replying we indirectly seem to suggest his/her comment is worthy of our time.”
And since you must have taken some of your time to think, type out, and then post, your own comment, I think it’s safe to say that you must have spent even MORE time READING the comments in the conversation BEFORE posting your own comment; so having spent (or wasted? xD) so much of your time, aren’t you also “indirectly seeming to suggest his/her comment is worthy of your time”? xD
“Cheers”
Gan bei! 🙂
I’ve been to CHS’s games against northland and VS and i remember all those who were there to watch. ‘justanotherfan’ is either:
1)Someone from CHS
2)Someone from BMSS
3)Someone from VS
4)Someone from Northland
5)Teacher from Xishan Primary
6)One of those kids from Xishan Primary
7)Mr Amir or the otehr teacher from VS
8)Someone from TJC
9) Match sec or referee
Most likely ‘justanotehrfan’ is from CHS. Please stop trolling on redsports. Even if you are not from chs, you are still ruining their name.
Sorry admin for posting this again, please delete the exact post i made earlier as i dont think anyone would bother to read it given that one would have to scroll all the way down.
“‘justanotherfan’ is either…. 6)One of those kids from Xishan Primary”
That primary school “kid” you have in mind must be someone really outstanding, to say the least! xD
“Most likely ‘justanotehrfan’ is from CHS”
So if my “name” were ‘justanotherfanoftheBrazilianNationalFootballTeam’, and you happen to watch a World Cup match between Brazil and England, and then you see me commenting a lot on some online forum about how good the Brazilian National Football Team and how much worse other teams are, would you also say “most likely ‘justanotherfanoftheBrazilianNationalFootballTeam’ is from Brazil” or “a Brazilian citizen” or “one of its national team’s footballers”?
“Please stop trolling on redsports.”
Just because you don’t like my comments, therefore I’m trolling?
Apparently, so far, the moderators don’t think so; but if they do change their mind, I’ll stop. 🙂
(And to be fair, EVERYBODY would also have to stop.)
“Even if you are not from chs, you are still ruining their name.”
I would require a site moderator or, even better, the CHS Principal to tell me that before I stop. 🙂
I choose not to believe that you are from VS,BMSS or northland cos that would be plain illogical and most unlikely. You are not the teacher from Xishan or VS nor are you from tjc judging by the immaturity you have shown thus far. You are not the match secretariat or the referee as i know them personally and i know they are not the type that would troll. I dont think that Xishan kid who plays for Xishan young flamingoes in the SFL conference would have taht good of a command of english. Therefore i am inclined to believe you are from CHS.
I call you a troll based on urbandictionary’s definition of troll which received the most thumbs up:
“One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument”
“I would require a site moderator or, even better, the CHS Principal to tell me that before I stop.”
Oh well
“nor are you from tjc judging by the immaturity you have shown thus far.”
So all “tjc” or JC students are mature? xD
“I dont think that Xishan kid who plays for Xishan young flamingoes in the SFL conference would have taht good of a command of english.”
Neither do I, although I don’t know who you’re referring to! xD
And English is not the only thing to take into consideration, to say the least! xD
“I call you a troll based on urbandictionary’s definition of troll…”
If that’s the case, then aren’t you “trolling” me too? xD
I suggest we just comment/discuss/argue in a friendly manner without name-calling! 🙂
You are unlikely to be from the jc as i believe most of them are preparing for their exams which are around the corner and it looks like you have plenty of time in your hands like a typical secondary school student. JC students are also unlikely to show such immaturity on the internet at this age.
If you are that kid from xishan and you are able to type with this ammount of flair at this age, you are a genius. Tell me if you are and i will sponsor you to study overseas as singapore’s education is not good enough to cater to such genius. There is simply too few of these type of genius in this world hence i am unconvinced that you are that kid from xishan.
I have posted my train of thought to show everyone how i have come to the conclusion that you are from CHS. I think you have nothing good to say about it thats why you look and point out loopholes in my postings.
Dear rrr, firstly, I would like to say that I literally laughed out loud when I was reading your latest comment! xD
“it looks like you have plenty of time in your hands like a typical secondary school student.”
Does that mean only so-called “typical secondary school students” have “have plenty of time” to spare?
What if I’m a rich man with nothing better to do with my life? xD
Once again, you’re jumping to conclusions without sufficient evidence, and what’s worse now is that you’re stereotyping people! *sigh*
“JC students are also unlikely to show such immaturity on the internet at this age.”
I’m not sure what you mean by “such immaturity”, but if you think my comments so far have been immature, and that JC students are more mature human beings, so much so that every single one of them are “unlikely to show such immaturity on the internet at this age”, then may I ask, how many JC students have you known personally? xD
“If you are that kid from xishan and you are able to type with this ammount of flair at this age, you are a genius.”
And if I’m not, would you still say that I’m a genius anyway? xD
“Tell me if you are and i will sponsor you to study overseas as singapore’s education is not good enough to cater to such genius.”
Well, obviously I’m not; and even if I am, I don’t need your money anyway! xD
And may I ask, how rich are you? xD
But yes, I do agree that “singapore’s education is not good enough to cater to such genius”! xD
“I think you have nothing good to say about it thats why you look and point out loopholes in my postings.”
But that’s because your postings are simply full of them! xD
How can I say anything, or much, good about it? xD
The only people who went for the games were secondary school students, primary school students,jc students, teachers, referees and match secs.
I was there and i remember all those who were there so please do not tell me stuff like ‘what if im a rich man and i have nothing to do with my life’.
I have explained why there is no possibility for you to be the teacher, ref, or match sec. You had nothing relevant to say about that
I had explained the unlikelihood of you being the primary school student. Again you had nothing relevant to say abouut it
The only point you made to deny being from chs is that you could be from the jc as not all jc people had maturity and not all secondary school students had alot of time.
I do not deny that there could be jc students who are that immature but note that they are the extreme cases and are hence the minority. As such, you being one of the 4 of them is jsut too unlikely and hence im inclined to believe that you are from secondary school.
There were only 4 groups of secondary school students who watched the game and it is highly unlikely you are from either VS,BMSS or northland. Hence you are from chs.
Please continue to attack and point out irrelavent stuff in my posting because all it does is reinforce the perception taht you are indeed a troll from chs since you have nothing better to say
To clarify, there were only 4 jc students who were at attendence during both matches. I know because one of them is my friend whom i remember playing with during our days in the singapore schools trials back then. Hence the unlikelyhood of you being one of them
“there were only 4 jc students who were at attendence during both matches. I know because one of them is my friend whom i remember playing with during our days in the singapore schools trials back then. Hence the unlikelyhood of you being one of them…and hence im inclined to believe that you are from secondary school.”
I’m also “inclined to believe that you are from secondary school”! xD
You’re still a teenager and a student, right? If you are, now I’m curious which school YOU are “from”? xD
And if I’m right about you still being a teenager, it’s no wonder that you are “inclined” to believe that I’m “from secondary school”! xD
Well, I’ll just say that once upon a time again, I also used to be a student at some seconday school, but this time I will not say which! xD
And personally, I think your lack of life experience, if you’re still a teenager, has caused you to narrow the possibilities of my identity down to being “from CHS”! *sigh*
“The only people who went for the games were secondary school students, primary school students,jc students, teachers, referees and match secs. I was there and i remember all those who were there”
May I ask, what makes you so sure? xD
Aren’t you forgetting the Redsports reporter, the great Les Tan, who took all those hundreds of photos of the VS-CHS match? xD
If you have forgotten him, then I think it’s safe to say that you probably missed noticing many other people as well, no? xD
“I have explained why there is no possibility for you to be the teacher, ref, or match sec. You had nothing relevant to say about that”
What’s there to say? You’re right on this point, right?
“I had explained the unlikelihood of you being the primary school student. Again you had nothing relevant to say abouut it”
Didn’t I say, “Well, obviously I’m not”?
“The only point you made to deny being from chs is that you could be from the jc as not all jc people had maturity and not all secondary school students had alot of time.”
Again, didn’t I say, “What if I’m a rich man with nothing better to do with my life? xD”?
“I do not deny that there could be jc students who are that immature but note that they are the extreme cases and are hence the minority.”
And again, you have yet to answer my question, “how many JC students have you known personally? xD”
Based on my own real-life and online experience, if you replace “minority” with “majority”, I’ll probably be more inclined to agree with you! xD
“There were only 4 groups of secondary school students who watched the game and it is highly unlikely you are from either VS,BMSS or northland.”
Obviously, that wouldn’t make sense, would it? xD
“Hence you are from chs.”
But you’re still wrong! xD
“Please continue to attack and point out irrelavent stuff in my posting because all it does is reinforce the perception taht you are indeed a troll…”
On moment you tell me to “stop trolling”, another moment you tell me to continue, why so fickle-minded? xD
Or do you finally enjoy having these online conversations with me? xD
“…from chs since you have nothing better to say”
Maybe you still think I have “nothing better to say”, but I’m afraid you’re still wrong about me being “from chs”! *sigh*
But I don’t mind saying that once upon a time, I used to be a student *at* CHS Primary! xD
Dude you left out one person…
rrr left out MORE than one person, to say the least! xD
WOW congrats “rrr” u have just successfully come out with a “accurate” and “representative” account of the CHS student. thanks.
CL, if there’s any “name” that has been “spoilt”, it’s my own “name”, which I don’t mind since I have many “names”, some of which I’ve abandoned anyway! xD
But as for whether the so-called “good name” of CHS has been spoilt, I’m not sure since that’s always a subjective opinion; some people might think it has been spoilt, some people might not think so.
Furthermore, as for people mistaking me for a “CH guy”, and I assume they mean current student of CHS or member of its championship-winning floorball team, I’d like to ask them:
If my “name” were “justanotherfanoftheBrazilianNationalFootballTeam”, and if I were to comment in a similar way about how good the Brazilian National Football Team and how much worse other teams are, does that necessarily mean that I’m “from” Brazil or a “Brazil guy” or a citizen of Brazil or a member of its national Football Team?
If no, then I think nobody should jump to conclusions based on insufficient evidence.
Floorball naturally is a high scoring game. I rather see a 9-8 victory than a 1-0 or 0-0 draw. Everyone is involved in getting the goals and equally to be blamed for conceding goals.
Sometimes the defenders press on to attack especially if the forwards are weak or tightly marked and esp if my defender is attacking minded and has a good shot.
As a trainee coach, I want to see that in a defender rather then a defender who says my job is up to halfway as I need to defend and concede less goal so that people will say I am a good defender. A player must play to his teams needs and if team needs the goals, he has to be more attack minded etc.
So we have to see his overall play, value and contribution and how he address the needs of a team before passing judgement. Of course, if I play in a team where my attackers do the job or come down to help I might look like a good defender. But if they do not then I as a defender cannot say I will not do anything else but just stay put and keep the score down. He needs to attack then.
So in that sense Floorball is not so compartmentalised as say soccer.
“I rather see a 9-8 victory”
With all due respect to you as a coach, in my opinion, this is just gambling! ^^;
I agree that a score such as 9-8 would make the match much more entertaining, especially if both teams are just playing for fun! xD
But if a match is in the context of a competition, then isn’t it highly risky to allow a team’s defence to weaken to the point of conceding 8 goals? And there’s no guarantee that such a team, no matter how strong its attack is, will score that crucial 9th goal to win the match, if it even manages to score at all, especially if their opponents happen to have a particularly strong defence.
CHS vs NSS had very few goals.
Samuel (Defender, Coral Secondary)
And also, among the 5 BMS players on this list, 4 of them are either defenders or goalkeeper, but yet they conceded nearly 20 goals in their last 3 matches this week to finish 4th?!?!? ^^;
If your logic is correct, than CHS should not wn the title because they lost 4-1 to CHS. Right
And why are people from Coral nominated as they are not even in the top 8. So fan of CHS enjoy u victory and do not even belief that CHS is the best floorball playing school in Singapore. Even on the finals VS were better skilled and you played well as a team and were he hungrier team. Learn humilty form the schools who have consisitently seen it and done it
“And why are people from Coral nominated as they are not even in the top 8.”
I have no idea! xD
And just in case you haven’t noticed, as long as a player is nominated, it will appear on this list; so if the worst player from the worst team of the season were nominated, he would also appear on this list of “best” players, which is ironic, isn’t it? xD
“do not even belief that CHS is the best floorball playing school in Singapore.”
Well, they were DURING THE PAST WEEK, in my opinion! 🙂
“Even on the finals VS were better skilled and you played well as a team and were he hungrier team.”
Doesn’t that prove that CHS were more deserving to win the match and title? 🙂
And may I ask HOW should CHS learn “humilty form the schools who have consisitently seen it and done it”? Unless I’m mistaken, the CHS players did thank their coach for coaching them, and they also kept any complacency to a minimum and defended well to minimize the conceding of goals; to me, that requires humility and perseverance in remaining humble right to the end!
By the way, may I also ask you to learn spelling too? xD
Dude , please note that this fan isn’t from CHS. Thanks.
CL, actually I never said I am and neither did “Shawn” say that I am; he said that I’m a “fan of CHS” which is fair enough, since it implies that I’m a fan of their 2011 ‘B’ Boys floorball team.
But that doesn’t automatically mean that such a fan has to be a current student of CHS or even a current student of any other school. A fan of a sporting team can be of any age, gender, occupation, nationality, race, country of residence, etc.
true. if not, there will be 1 billion englishmen. if u get me.
Hi Shawn! 🙂
My logic for “… 4 of them are either defenders or goalkeeper, but yet they conceded nearly 20 goals in their last 3 matches this week to finish 4th…” has nothing to do with whether or not “CHS should not wn the title”; I’m just hinting that if I were a BMS defender/goalkeeper, I wouldn’t want my name to appear on any list of “best” floorball players, simply because I would be too ashamed by the fact that as a defender/goalkeeper of a defending-champion team, I played so badly as to be one of the causes for my team conceding nearly 20 goals in my team’s last 3 games of the season, which were obviously among the most crucial games of the season for avoiding defeat; and to avoid defeat, isn’t it obvious that a strong defence is needed to minimize the conceding of goals?
By the way, CHS did not lose “4-1 to CHS”, neither did BMS lose “4-1 to CHS”! xD
CHS lost 4-1 to BMS in early February possibly/probably because BMS were the better team ON THAT DAY, but the same cannot be said for it during the past week, in my opinion.
Learn to read first CH Fan. Since you enjoying picking on mistakes when people type fast and do not proof read. I never said CHS did not deserve to win. I said VS is better skilled. Defending and conceding goals is not humulity my dear, oh gosh u bring new theories.
If BMS defenders are not good to be nominated, shouldn’t the same logic apply to CH team and that they do not deserve to be in . I know it is not fair but using your own logic to explain. Since it is early Feb, they lost, can I say that defenders were ill, injured as they play in the league too and maybe off form during the week as games are back to back. As if u off form during that period it involves 3 games or so. If the same logic applies to yOu it shold apply to all. Do not pick and choose when it applies to you only. Floorball, defence and attack involves all,pls know that. It is unlike soccer where you can solely blame the defenders but here all contribute to goals and all do defend aNd attackers are first defenders FOR all sports and more so in Floorball.
Lastly do not spoil the good name of CH by sounding arrogant bec ppl mistake u for CH guy.
Lastly thank you and if you still do not get it, I will let barking dogs bark.
“Lastly thank you and if you still do not get it, I will let barking dogs bark.”
I’m afraid I still do not get it! 🙁
So please be a man of your word, and “let barking dogs bark”, if you want to put it that way! xD
“Learn to read first CH Fan. Since you enjoying picking on mistakes when people type fast and do not proof read.”
I’m learning everyday! xD
But may I ask you to learn to improve your English, especially your spelling, otherwise it can lead to some misunderstandings, to say the least? 🙂
You’re free to pick on my English mistakes too, if you wish, since neither am I perfect! xD
“Defending and conceding goals is not humulity my dear, oh gosh u bring new theories.”
Thanks for regarding me dearly, Shawn! 🙂
My theories might be new to you, but they seem to be rather old to me! xD
Or maybe I’m just too old-fashioned for you? ^^;
“Lastly do not spoil the good name of CH by sounding arrogant bec ppl mistake u for CH guy.”
It is not my intention to “spoil the good name of CH”, neither is it my intention to sound “arrogant”, but if you wish to accuse me of such things, there’s nothing I can do to stop you, but please bear in mind that anybody can also accuse anybody else of spoiling so-called “good names” of whatever entities and of “sounding arrogant”, not just in sporting contexts, but in any other contexts; all it takes is a simple dislike due to whatever reason, no matter how small.
As for people mistaking me for a “CH guy”, that’s not my fault because I’ve never said nor even hinted in any way that I’m a current student of CHS or even a current student of any other school in Singapore or in the whold world. If people wish to jump to conclusions because of their narrow-mindedness, there’s nothing I can do about it, but please don’t blame me for being a fan of, and admiring and praising, the 2011 CHS ‘B’ Boys championship-winning floorball team; it’s just a new hobby of mine! xD
Oh god. Just because those nominated BMS players did badly in their last 3 games, it doesnt necessarily mean that they are bad players. If BMS and CH were to have a match, im pretty sure BMS will win. Also, going by your explanation, I suppose BMS weren’t the better team than their opponents ON THE DAYS they lost. Dude, your comments and mindset is very pro-CH. Which makes it rather difficult for you to speak to others about floorball because in your mind, you would be thinking “CH bdiv 2011 floorball team is the best”. And you do sound very boastful and arrogant. Which brings a pretty bad image to the CH floorball team, as people would most likely think that you are part of the team or somewhat affiliated with the team, judging by your name. Yea, you do have truckload of “explanations” and “theories”, but I just wanna say, you sound like a hater, you dislike other teams, like VS and especially BMS, and you like to criticize other teams, you sound so very arrogant that I feel like you deserve a slapshot to your face.
“Just because those nominated BMS players did badly in their last 3 games, it doesnt necessarily mean that they are bad players.”
Neither have I said that they are “bad players”.
But I won’t repeat what I’ve said about this particular issue since people can read it for themselves in my previous comments on this page.
“If BMS and CH were to have a match, im pretty sure BMS will win.”
I would say that BMS *might* beat CHS, but I would hesitate to be so sure of victory.
“Also, going by your explanation, I suppose BMS weren’t the better team than their opponents ON THE DAYS they lost.”
So you’ve finally seen the light? xD
“Dude, your comments and mindset is very pro-CH.”
As I’ve said in my comment in the article: “I’m a fan of their 2011 ‘B’ Boys floorball team, so obviously my comments are generally “very pro-CH”; would it make any sense for my comments to be anti-CH or even neutral?”
“Which makes it rather difficult for you to speak to others about floorball”
Well, so far, I’ve not had much difficulty expressing my opinions; but I suspect that some people do have difficulty in ACCEPTING my opinions because of their “mindset” being very “anti-CH”, if I may use these popular terms!
“because in your mind, you would be thinking “CH bdiv 2011 floorball team is the best”.”
Actually, I did not even begin to have such thoughts until AFTER they won the title. In fact, I was expecting CHS to lose to VS in their last 3rd-round group match, but after witnessing such a good performance in that match, followed by an even better performance in the Final, I realized that CHS was indeed the better team during last week.
“And you do sound very boastful and arrogant . . . you sound so very arrogant that I feel like you deserve a slapshot to your face.”
Does that mean I may not praise a good team? If I may, then is there a limit to the NUMBER of times I may praise such a team?
If CHS were to have played like VS/BMS last week and VS/BMS were to have played like CHS last week and won the title, I would probably give VS/BMS due credit; and VS/BMS fans would probably also praise their floorball team, and if that were to happen, other people (not just CHS fans) could also say that VS/BMS fans “sound very boastful and arrogant”, and that they “sound so very arrogant that I feel like you deserve a slapshot to your face”. How would you feel if you were to receive such a comment?
“Which brings a pretty bad image to the CH floorball team, as people would most likely think that you are part of the team or somewhat affiliated with the team, judging by your name.”
Then that’s not my fault if people choose to jump to conclusions because of their narrow-mindedness.
If people want to ascribe “a pretty bad image” to anyone, they should just ascribe it to me and me alone, and I’ll deal with them in my own special way! xD
“Yea, you do have truckload of “explanations” and “theories”.”
Which were necessary since some people were challenging them! 🙂
“you sound like a hater, you dislike other teams, like VS and especially BMS”
May I also say that quite a few people (not necessarily students/fans of VS or BMS) also “sound” like “haters” of CHS and its championship-winning floorball team? 🙂
” Lastly do not spoil the good name of CH by sounding arrogant bec ppl mistake u for CH guy. ”
Totally agree.
I’ve been to CHS’s games against northland and VS and i remember all those who were there to watch. ‘justanotherfan’ is either:
1)Someone from CHS
2)Someone from BMSS
3)Someone from VS
4)Someone from Northland
5)Teacher from Xishan Primary

7)Mr Amir or the otehr teacher from VS
8)Someone from TJC
9) Match sec or referee
Most likely ‘justanotehrfan’ is from CHS
*blink* Wow! I just noticed that among the top 10, 5 are from CHS and 4 from BMS, and none from VS?!?!?

Zul, Jay Pal and Rapheal. Watch out for Zul next year, just in Sec 3.
