Bukit Gombak Stadium, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 — Jurongville Secondary secured their third consecutive West Zone B Division Football Championship title by defeating a resilient Hong Kah Secondary 2-1 in a pulsating final.
Hong Kah, backed by rousing support of cheering students and a drum ensemble which transformed the stadium into a lively atmosphere, were looking to win back the title which they last won in 2008.
Dollah Kassim award winner and Youth Olympic Games representative Ammirul Emran opened accounts for Hong Kah through the penalty spot in the 15th minute but the match belonged to Jurongville’s brilliant playmaker Fareez Farhan who scored the equalizer and set up the winner for Jurongville to retain the title.
Fareez, 17, also features for Gombak FC in the U-23 Prime League while Hong Kah also had YOG representatives Firdaus and Hamzah Fazil in their ranks.
