Clementi Sports Hall, Wednesday, April 6, 2011 — Chun Wang Xuan (#15) had his best performance yet in the first round of the National B Division Basketball Championship to help Jurong Secondary beat highly fancied Presbyterian High School 65-50.
With the win, Jurong managed to qualify for the second round despite their earlier 42-46 loss to Ngee Ann Secondary. Jurong’s joy at qualification was in contrast to that of North Zone champions Presbyterian High who were eliminated despite suffering only their first loss of the season.
Ngee Ann, who beat Catholic High 41-31 in the other group game, qualified in top place by virtue of their earlier victory over Jurong.
Ngee Ann, Jurong and Presbyterian High all finished with identical 2-1 win-loss records but Presbyterian High lost out on the points differential.
