Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Thursday, April 14, 2011 — Lynette Lim of Cedar Girls’ jumped a distance of 11.07m to take gold in the C Division Girls’ Triple Jump event at the 52nd National Inter-School Track and Field Championships.

Teammate Celine Chay was second with a jump distance of 10.40m. Keifa Teo of the Singapore Sports School finished in third place with a jump distance of 10.13m.

Lynette was the favourite going into this competition, by virtue of her 10.95m performance at last month’s Singapore Junior Athletic Championships, which was nearly a full metre further than any of her peers had done.

With this result at the National Schools meet, Lynette became only the fourth girl to jump further than 11 metres in the C Division triple jump in the history of the competition. The other three are Sakinah Muslimah (11.32m, 2010), Mariam Shazana (11.13m, 2006), and Nurul Jannah (11.11m, 2006), and they hail from the Singapore Sports School.
