SAFRA Bay Run and Army Half Marathon to hit 20th edition in September

Launch of New SALONPAS Products For Enhanced Runners’ Welfare

For the third year running, Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Inc (Salonpas) has renewed its support as the main event sponsor with a cash sponsorship of S$200,000. To give an added boost to the 20th Anniversary of the event, Salonpas will also be launching two new muscle relief products in conjunction with the event – Salonpas JET SPRAY and Salonpas MASSAGE FOAM.

Participants can look forward to be among the first to try out the two new products at six Salonpas Aid Stations located along the running routes and the carnival area. Tired and aching muscles will be pampered further as runners receive swift and effective muscle relief with a spray of Salonpas JET SPRAY while they the run, as well as soothing massages at the rubdown station at the Padang where the 70 professional masseurs will be using the Salonpas MASSAGE FOAM to relax tired muscles after the run.

Organisers have also put in place measures to manage runners? welfare and safety. There will be a total of 13 water points along the running routes and participants of the AHM will also be able to collect bananas at three water points along the route to replenish their energy, keeping runners going, to complete their routes in better form.

To ensure adequate medical support, there will be seven ambulance posts and five medical posts strategically stationed along the route, as well as medics on buggies and a roving medical team to respond effectively to emergencies en-route.

Online Photo Competition

Photos are priceless. They capture special moments and bring smiles in later years when one views them in reminiscence. This year, organisers are enticing the public to participate in an online photo competition on SAFRA?s lifestyle portal, in2it.sg, from 1 July to 31 July 2011.

Members of the public with meaningful and/or memorable photos taken at any of the past editions of the SSBR & AHM can submit their entries according to three categories – Fitness, Bonding and Fun.

Submissions should be accompanied with short descriptions of how each photo relates to each respective area in a personal and significant way. The top three winners from each category will be selected solely via online voting and they stand to win attractive prizes worth $2,500.
