Yio Chu Kang Stadium, Monday, July 11, 2011 — Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) saw off Greenridge Secondary 83-0 on match day 3 of the National C Division Rugby Championship.
ACS(I) were still smarting from their 0-15 loss to Saint Andrew’s Secondary in their previous match and were keen to put matters right. The boys in blue and gold went at their opponents in black and red like a swarm of angry hornets, racking up try after try.
The only time Greenridge threatened was a failed penalty about 10m into the ACS half. At half time, ACS(I) led 71-0.
In the second half, two quick tries by Gregory Ang and Joshua Goh (#9) for ACS(I) settled matters, allowing the referee to apply the mercy rule.
Final score: ACS (I) 83, Greenridge 0.
