Rimini, Italy, September 9-11, 2011 — Singapore finished 30th out of 36 teams at the 1st 3×3 Youth World Basketball Championship.
Singapore were represented by Delvin Goh (16 years old), Peter Soo (17), Poh Wei Hao (18) and Zhou Zhenqiang (18) and led by head coach Neo Nam Kheng.
The boys’ championship which was eventually won by New Zealand who beat Bulgaria 19-18.
Powerhouse USA were knocked out 21-12 by Estonia in the quarter-finals and eventually finished eighth overall after additional losses to Russia (15-21) and Canada (11-20).
Singapore were placed in Pool B with eight other teams and finished the preliminary stage with a 1-7 win-loss record, their only win coming against Qatar (19-9). Only the top four from each of the four pools progressed to the round of 16 stage.
In the classification round, Singapore lost to Syria (19-21) and England (10-21) before beating Japan 19-17. In their final playoff game for 29th and 30th, they lost 16-18 to India.
