Softball: Singapore Poly and Raffles Institution emerge as champs at Kallang Open

Kallang, March 3-4, 2012 — Singapore Polytechnic (SP) beat Raffles Institution (RI) 6-5 to win a thrilling final of the 3rd Kallang Open. The Open is the only high-level softball competition for tertiary schools.

SP had earlier beaten the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) 3-0 in one semi-final while RI saw off the National University of Singapore (NUS) 8-2 in the other.

In the women’s final, RI beat the National University of Singapore (NUS) 2-1 after scoring in the final inning with an impressive double play.
