Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 — Muhammad Naqib Bin Asmin of Singapore Sports School won the B Division 100m final with a time of 11.10 seconds. Lightning had delayed the final by about three hours.
Raymond Lee of St Joseph’s Institution was second in 11.42 while Timothy Ong of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) was third in 11.52.
Teo Yan of Ngee Ann Secondary, who had qualified for the final as the second fastest with a time of 11.46 in the semi-finals, withdrew from the race. His semi-final time would have given him third place in the final if he had run.
Naqib was also the fastest runner in the semi-finals. He clocked 11.18 while Raymond and Timothy were timed in 11.58 and 11.64 respectively in their respective semi-final races.
The electronically-timed championship record is 10.90 set by Shahrir Mohd Anuar, then of Sports School, in 2009. Hong Jinsheng holds the hand-timed record of 10.80. He set it in 1985 when he was in Jin Tai Secondary.
