Singapore Indoor Stadium, Sunday, May 13, 2012 — The Singapore Slingers ended their season with a 85-91 loss to the visiting Indonesia Warriors in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
The Slingers were already out of contention for a playoff spot before the game and the loss left them with a 9-12 win-loss record for the season. This is the first time in three ABL seasons that the Slingers will not feature in the playoffs.
For the Warriors, the win helped them to a 12-9 record and third place in the table to earn themselves a playoff match up with the Philippine Patriots who finished ahead of them in second (16-5).
Slinger Louis Graham finished with 34 points while teammate Kyle Jeffers contributed 17 and Don Dulay added 12.
The Slingers made the Warriors work for the win, however. The Slingers shot well in the first half as the Warriors trailed 30-39 with 6 minutes left before halftime after Slingers made a 9-0 run capped by a basket from Kyle Jeffers.
The Warriors led 67-65 at the start of the fourth quarter and blew open the game with a 12-2 run for their biggest lead of 12 points in the game. Amin Prihantono made back-to-back three point shots for the Warriors and his teammate Evan Brock had four points during that stretch for their team to lead 79-67 with 5:53 left.
