London, Saturday, July 28, 2012 — Singapore’s Tao Li finished 10th overall in the Women’s 100m butterfly semi-finals and missed out on a place in the final.
Tao Li was fourth in her semi-final race.
She clocked a time of 58.18 seconds, which was her fastest time since the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where she finished fifth in the final in a time of 57.99.
She improved on her heat time of 58.34 set in the morning.
This was Tao Li’s fastest time in the event since November 2010 when she won silver at the Asian Games in a time of 58.24, which remains her personal best since non-textile swimsuits were banned in January 2010.
Her lifetime best is 57.54 clocked in the semi-finals of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. It was a then-Asian record which propelled her to become the first Singaporean swimmer to make an Olympic swimming final.
