Singapore Polytechnic, Friday, November 2, 2012 — Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) went down 31-40 to Republic Polytechnic (RP) in their final game to finish third in the Polytechnic-Institute of Technical Education (POL-ITE) Netball Championship.
Both NP and RP went into the game with similar 3-1 win-loss records with second place up for grabs.
NP beat Nanyang Polytechnic 48-30 in their opening game but lost their second 37-54 against eventual champions, Singapore Polytechnic (SP).
NP then bounced back to win their next two against defending champions Temasek Polytechnic (38-26) and the Institute of Technical Education (78-13), before they lost their final game to RP.
While NP had good players, their lack of height worked against them.
While SP and RP both finished with identical 4-1 records, SP were declared the champions after having beaten RP by a slim two-goal, 43-41 victory.
