PESEB,Thursday, January 17, 2013 — Fairfield Methodist School showed confidence in their second group match against Queenstown Secondary with a comprehensive 25-12, 25-10 victory to secure their spot in the semi-finals and assure themselves of a top-four finish of the South Zone B Division Volleyball Championship.

Fairfield started the first set well, leading 20-4 at one point but Quuenstown tried to force a comeback by earning six points in a row. ButFairfield pushed on to win the set 25-12.

In the second set, Fairfield looked more assured in their play, with their libero and middle spikes combining a few times to save balls. They took their chances and Queenstown had no reply.

The Queenstown outside spikers managed to earn a few points by spiking through the middle but Fairfield were definitely the stronger team.

As the final group match against traditional rivals Catholic High approaches, the Fairfield team will be hoping to maintain this hot streak of form.
