Clementi Sports Hall, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 — Zhenghua Secondary beat the School of Science and Technology 64-47 to secure themselves a place in Round 2 of the West Zone B Division Basketball Championship.
The win gave Zhenghua a 4-1 win-loss record and second place in their group behind Kranji Secondary.
Both teams qualified for the second round at the expense of Bukit Panjang Government High. Bukit Panjang beat Yuan Ching Secondary on an adjacent court which meant all three teams finished with identical 4-1 records.
However, it was Bukit Panjang that found themselves the odd team out based on points difference.
Zhenghua will play in a Round 2 group that includes Hwa Chong Institution (3-1), Jurongville Secondary (4-0), Dunearn Secondary (5-0), Jurong Secondary (5-0) and Hua Yi Secondary (4-1).
