Bishan Stadium, Monday, April 22, 2013 — Nanyang Primary clinched top spot in the B and C Girls long jump event at the 54th National Inter-Primary School Track & Field Championships.
They almost made a complete sweep of the B, C and D titles, but were thwarted by Sembawang Primary’s Tok Mei Hui, who leaped a distance of 3.49m to finish ahead of Nanyang’s Celeste Li, who had a jump distance of 3.41m.
In the B girls’ event, Nanyang’s Lim Shin-Yi narrowly took first place by 1cm, jumping a distance of 4.32m. Nan Hua’s Courtney Mae Lim settled for second place after her attempt of 4.31m. Germine Yeo of Fairfield Methodist took third with 4m, while Nanyang’s Erinn Lee and Fairfield’s Adeline Hew were joint-fourth with their attempt of 3.94m.
Nanyang’s other gold medalist was Celeste Ang, who finished first in the C girls’ long lump with her attempt of 3.89m. Temasek took second and third with Yasmeen Marie Lufti and Sherlynn Yen jumping 3.80m and 3.78m respectively. St Anthony’s Canossian’s Salvador Angelica Marquez braved injury to finish fourth with her attempt of 3.57m.
