Singapore Basketball Centre, Friday, July 19, 2013 — Woodgrove Secondary achieved a comfortable 55–29 win over Chung Cheng High (Yishun) in Round 1 of the North Zone C Division Boys’ Basketball Championship.
Teo Yung Jin (#13) contributed a game-high 22 points to Woodgrove’s victory while Thean Zhi Wei (#6) poured in 15 points. Chung Cheng High’s Guan Junyu (#7) poured in 16 points in the loss.
Woodgrove took their first lead with about four minutes remaining in the first quarter with Yung Jin’s (#13) free throws and they never looked back, pulling away to an eventual 55–29 win.
Woodgrove’s captain Yung Jin (#13) commented: “We were a bit nervous before the game but we were able to play well. We have to improve on our defence as we let them get some easy looks at the basket.”
