Clementi Sports Hall, Friday, July 26, 2013 — Jurong West Secondary beat New Town Secondary 40–21 in Round 1 of the West Zone C Division Girls’ Basketball Championship.
Liang Ke Ying (#9) of Jurong West had a game-high 15 points while Claudia Soh (#7) of New Town had a team-high 9 points.
For New Town, this was their third loss in a row. In their opening game, they were beaten 75–7 by Unity Secondary. That was followed by a 12–31 loss to Assumption English School.
Jurong West lost their opening game of the championship 18–27 to Assumption but bounced back to beat Dunearn Secondary 36–12. They then lost the next game 13–77 to powerhouse Unity Secondary.
