Physical Education and Sports Education Branch, Friday, March 7, 2014 — Greenridge Secondary defeated Damai Secondary 22–10 in a final group game in the National B Division Boys Rugby Championship.
Greenridge finished third in their group with a 2–2 win-loss record, while Damai were last. Both teams did not enter the semi-finals.
Natchapol (Greenridge #3) had a couple of good runs during the game, but could not convert them. His teammate Abdillah (Greenridge #9) managed to score two tries for the team.
Greenridge ended the first half with four tries and one conversion to lead 22–0 at half-time.
In the second half, Muhammad Khairi (#12) and Muhammad Farihin (#13) scored a try each to total 10 points for Damai.
While Greenridge did not manage to score in the second half, their first-half lead was enough to give them the 22–10 victory.
Greenridge captain, Asrul (#17) said, “I think it was an okay game, just that the other team’s very aggressive.”
Damai captain, Shuqrie (#3) said, “I think we’re not that prepared for the game.”
