Physical Education and Sports Education Branch, Thursday, March 13, 2014 — Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) (ACS(I)) beat St. Joseph’s Institution (SJI) 33–0 in the National B Division Boys Rugby Championship.
ACS(I) were dominant from the start, as the team connected well and made threatening plays. In the first half, Roy Woo (#10) scored two tries while Lim Shern (#20) scored one. Roy (#10) also made all the conversions.
SJI did not score and ACS(I) led 21–0 by the end of the first half.
In the second half, ACS(I) dominated possession even more. ACS(I) scored two more tries in this half to take home a 33–0 win over SJI.
With this win, ACS(I) remain undefeated and have a 3–0 win-loss record so far. SJI hold a 2–1 record.
ACS(I) face Pioneer in their next group game while SJI take on Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road).
Rui Shan (#2) of ACS(I) said, “I think it went quite well for ACS(I). In the first half we made a couple of mistakes and our plays were a bit shaky. However, we found our confidence and played quite well in the second half. We are just trying to win every game that comes now. We hope to win the Championship.”
