Bishan Stadium, Wednesday, March 26, 2013 — Cheong Jo Yune of Nanyang Primary won the C Girls’ Shot Put gold with a throw of 8.44m at the 55th National Inter-Primary School Track & Field Championships.
In second place was Gongshang Primary’s Eugenia Long whose attempt of 8.26m was just enough to edge out the 8.20m effort by Goh Boon Suang of Sembawang Primary. Tan Huai Zhen of Nanyang Primary took fourth with a throw of 7.84m.
In the A Girls’ 600m Final, Sembawang Primary’s Zeng Ting comfortably clinched the gold with a time of 2 minutes 2.57 seconds. She started off the race strongly and finished with her nearest competitor, Teck Whye Primary’s Ki Wonyi, almost 100m behind. Wongyi finished with a time of 2 minutes 19.18 seconds while Zhang Lingjie of First Toa Payoh Primary was third with a time of 2 minutes 27.75 seconds.
