Republic Polytechnic, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 — Anderson Junior College (AJC) held on to their lead from the start to beat Temasek Junior College (TJC) 48–41 in the second round of the National A Division Netball Championship. However, both teams do not qualify for the semi-finals. This was only the first win for AJC in the second round, while for TJC, they lost all their three second round matches.

Both teams were off to a strong start in the first quarter with AJC managing to establish a slight lead, ending the quarter two points ahead of TJC at 10–8.

AJC held on to their momentum and continued to widen the score gap to lead by six (23–17) at half time.

TJC outscored AJC 3–1 to open the third quarter but could not close the gap and AJC still led by six points (37–31) heading into the fourth.

TJC lost possession of the ball multiple times in the fourth quarter while AJC used a mix of accurate long and short distance passes to maintain possession of the ball and contribute to their final victory of 48–41.

AJC Captain, Venessa, said, “We thought we should be able to win, but in the end it turned out to be a tough fight. It was tiring, but I’m glad that our team actually pressed on and continued playing. We will come back stronger next year.”
