Republic Polytechnic, Thursday, May 22, 2014 — Yishun Junior College (YJC) pick up their first win with a 5–3 victory over Tampines Junior College (TPJC) in the National A Division Boys Floorball Championship.
YJC finished the season with a 1–2–2 win-draw-loss record while TPJC lost all five of their group games. Both teams did not qualify for the semi-finals.
YJC (#9) scored first to give YJC a 1–0 lead. TPJC responded with a goal from Muhammad Izzdanial (#27) just a few minutes after to tie the game. YJC scored another goal as they head into the second period with a 2–1 lead.
The second period started off with YJC (#72) committing a foul to give TPJC a penalty but TPJC were unable to capitalise on and convert the penalty. TPJC went on to score two more goals before the end of the period to take a 3–2 lead.
YJC came back in the third period with three goals from #72, #34, and #4 to seal a 5–3 victory.
YJC captain, Tarmizi Mohktar, said, “I’m delighted that we won. The past few games weren’t good. We did our very best.”
