Singapore Basketball Centre, Friday, July 4, 2014 — Yishun Secondary (YSS) defeated North View Secondary (NVS) 72–14 in the North Zone C Division Boys Basketball Championship to clinch their third win of the season.

Yishun currently have a 3–0 win-loss record, while North View Secondary drop to a 1–2 record.

Yishun were off to a good start when Eldric (YSS #10) scored the first two points two minutes into the game. Yishun’s strong grip of the game denied North View of many scoring opportunities. However, NVS (#9) finally managed to score a two-pointer for his team. Yishun held a 19–2 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Yishun held their lead for the entire game, with Zhou Zhen Long (YSS #11) scoring a team-high of 10 points. NVS (#12) scored five points, contributing to his team’s total of 14.

Despite attempts by North View to score more points, Yishun continued their strong game to take the 72–14 victory.

Yishun captain, Koek Zhi Yue (#9), said, “Our defence was not good. We need to improve in the next match. We hope to qualify for nationals.”

Yishun will next face Northland Secondary on July 10, while North View will face Punggol Secondary on July 8. Both games will be played at the Singapore Basketball Centre.
